Enjoy a unique tour with beautiful landscapes and
archaeological landmarks in the area of Argolida.
This tour begins with a short stop at the Corinth
Canal, a must-see viewing spot where the Aegean
Sea connects with the Ionian Sea, technically
separating the Peloponnese Peninsula from the
Greek mainland.
Our exploration will continue with the
famous Mycenae ‘Rich in Gold’, the kingdom of the
mythical King Agamemnon, and the most important
and richest palatial center of the Late Bronze Age.
Among the highlights are the Treasure of Atreus, the
most impressive of the preserved Mycenaean tholos
tombs, and the famous Lion’s Gate, the symbol of the
Mycenaean rulers’ power.
We will then visit the picturesque port town of Nafplio,
the first capital of Greece after the Greek War of
Independence in 1821. Wandering around the old
quarter of the town is a unique experience that feels
like walking across the centuries, with its ancient
parts coexisting with medieval and Venetian
monuments and neoclassical buildings. It is the
perfect place to enjoy a light lunch or refreshment
and visit Nafplio’s famous Bourtzi Castle.
Our final stop will be the remarkable and extremely
well-preserved Ancient Theater of Epidaurus, located
within the archaeological site of the Sanctuary of
Asklepios. An extraordinary architectural
achievement, the theater is famous for its aesthetics
and near-perfect acoustics, and it maintains the title
of the oldest outdoor theater still operating today.
